This week

I have talented, courageous and intelligent children. I am so proud of you. Still have a cold. Takes me a while to get going in the morning. Today I do need to mow. We had rain all day yesterday. I went to the Appalachian Women's Alliance festival Saturday in Abingdon. Great music and storytelling but weak attendance. Yay, more for me, I guess. Went to Music on the Square in Jonesborough Friday night. Eclectic mix but one awesome performer, Cindy Kalmenson, is someone we may see in a national spotlight if her ship comes in. Sunday I helped with the Jubilee service. I did the four corners invocation with the burning sage - nearly choked on the smoke - and then spent the afternoon at Tipton Haynes at the Children's Advocacy Center picnic. Quite a do! Sorghum Making Festival is this Saturday and I am in charge of the food tent. Making cornbread and cookies. We'll serve beans, chili and hot dogs. Just happy not to be stirring that caudron over the open fire all afternoon in a long skirt.
