Onion and curry

I cooked last night, made curried beef pitas (very tasty) but, while cooking is fun, I can't ever get the smell of onion off my hands, no matter how many times I wash them. putting lotion on or using smelly soap results in an onion smell added. No matter how tasty it sounds, rasberry-onion is not a plesant smell. Anybody know how to get rid of it?
